Welcome... Take warning, items may be very up to date or you could find yourself reading something that may be several months old. As most know, I have two brothers who do not have a problem playing around on computers. I do reap major benefits from that, ha-ha. Their sites are:Kev's Site | Justin's Site. Those will I'm sure will be posting whatever I may be missing or should be posting. Sorry, just haven't caught on to doing this daily.

She’s Home :)

brian.givens April 30th, 2008

Well, Tiff has made it home safely. She got back in to the church around 12:30ish-1:00 yesterday. Her travels back in here not to bad. She got some good sleep off and on for the most part and needless to say they were excited about being back and off the plan.

I am excited she is home too!! Me missed her, me missed her lots!! :) :)

Thanks for everyone’s prayers. I know she greatly appreciates them and were taken in! Much love to you all!

Lusaka - On the way home…

brian.givens April 28th, 2008

Just spoke with Tiff and they have arrived in Lusaka, Zambia.  The drive this morning wasn’t too bad (since it was on a paved road) unlike the drive to Kasheke.  Tiff described the ride to Kasheke by saying, “B, you would have loved to taken the Jeep down this road, you have enjoyed it.” She said it was like driving down a sandy beach at times and she said when they said it was out in the middle of nowhere, she said it really was just that. It’s a shame Rubi couldn’t go along for the ride! ;)

Per Wanda (sub-per George)

brian.givens April 27th, 2008

Talked with George Hutson this morning and he had talked with April.  Some were at Gerri’s showering and were able to call home. They had made it back from Kasheke and it was a good time.  I don’t know about ya’ll, but I’m ready for some stories and details of this trip.  I know God has been at work and I’m anxious to hear how His will has been accomplished.   (Gerri is only 5-10 minutes from Melissa so it’s nice to have another bathroom or two. You can imagine all those women with only 2 bathrooms)

Saturday - 4/26 - finally day of the conference…

brian.givens April 26th, 2008

I spoke with Tiff this morning.  She was doing fine.  Sounded a little tired but good. They finished up the conference this morning and everything went well. Today was only a morning session to finish everything up. I hope and pray that what the ladies in Mongu experienced will stay deep in their hearts and that the seeds that our girls helped plant will remain long after they leave.

Tomorrow morning they have a rough drive to Kasheke for church.  Tiff and Heather will be giving their testimonies, so please be praying for them. From what I am hearing they call this “the bush.”

I am going to go try and pick up a couple phone cards such that I can give to Tiff so that they can use hopefully tomorrow and when the arrive at the mission house in Lusaka on Monday (which is the two 3.5 hour drives, 7 hour straight drive, they did at the beginning of their journey).

Please continue to keep them in your prayers!

From Sue to Craig

brian.givens April 23rd, 2008

Brian, This is an email that Sue sent me tonight, I thought you would like to know how the conference went today.

Craig

Hey Babe! We had our first day of the conference and it went great!! Melissa said she thought it was the best first day ever. Donna told the story today and she was a pro. Tiff gave her testimony and the women cried. They never show emotion like that, so we were astonished. I think they feel very comfortable with us now because we have been there so many times. When we arrived they ran out to greet us. It was wonderful.

Early, Not For Some (if you are 6hrs ahead of EST)

brian.givens April 23rd, 2008

Well, it just shortly after the 4 a.m. mark and I and a few others (I’m sure for sure) are up praying for our ladies and the conference.  If you did not know the conference is starting right now, yep, 4 a.m. EST = 10 a.m. local time for our ladies.  So once you are reading this, realize that the ladies are into their afternoon and are starting to bring a close to their first day of the women’s conference and still need your prayers.  So please continue to lift them up.

I am going to take a little excerpt from Wanda’s email about praying for our ladies because it is right on:

So, please pray for God’s hand to be in every word, every song, every movement they make.  Pray that they will trust Him to speak thru them.  Pray for God to calm their nerves and to be comfortable with the women.  Donna will be teaching on Jonah, Tiffany will be giving her testimony. Heather and April will be teaching them the songs, “The Joy of the Lord” and “Lead Me, Lord” (and I believe it’s in Lozi).  Their goal is to be “faceless” - to let it not be Sue, Donna, Karen, Tiffany, Heather or April, but that it be ALL ABOUT HIM!

They made it to Melissa’s

brian.givens April 22nd, 2008

I just spoke with Tiff (8:00 a.m. our time, 2:00 p.m. their time). They arrived at Melissa’s ok and were unpacking and about to have some lunch.

She said both the land and water safari were really good, seeing all the hippos, crocodiles, zebras, and elephants. She said she has taken over 500 pictures. She was saying that pictures she has taken just don’t do it justice. That it’s hard to really capture how pretty it was. Continue Reading »
